Embrace the Forbidden

What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences?

This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.
Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but it isn't until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.

Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

Synopsis:

Anna Whitt, the daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a vow. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

Synopsis:

It’s time.

Evil is running rampant and sweet Anna Whitt is its target. Nobody knows when or how the Dukes will strike, but Anna and her Nephilim allies will do anything necessary to rid the earth of the demons and their oppressive ways.

The stakes are higher than ever, and Anna is determined that the love she feels will be her strength, not a liability. But trying to protect the ones she loves while running for her life and battling demonic forces proves to be perilous—especially as faces are changing and trust is fleeting. When the Duke of Lust sends Anna’s great love, Kaidan Rowe, to work against her, Anna must decide how much she’s prepared to risk.

In the most sensual and fast-paced installment yet, Sweet Reckoning brings all the beloved Neph together one last time to fight for their freedom.

Hi Wendy! Thank you so much for celebrating our blogoversary with us. We are huge fans of the Sweet Trilogy and having you today in our blog is simply amazing.

Thanks so much for having me!! J

I don’t know if I “came up” with it as much as it hit me out of the blue and grew into this massive thing that I couldn’t contain in my head. I had to write it down. It was the craziest thing that’s every happened to me. I was completely overwhelmed and fascinated.

Sexy, dark, passionate, mysterious, and forbidden

With my eyes. Ha. Kidding, kidding. She’s naïve. Compassionate to a fault. Sexy as hell because she doesn’t try to be. She just…real.

Kai can be so frustrating. He holds back, and for a long time I couldn’t figure out how he truly felt about anything. But the truth is that underneath that tough exterior he’s just a boy who craves love. I like his sense of humor, even though he embarrasses me all the time.

Anna: Life is Beautiful
Kai: Snatch

Kai: It changes all the time, but right now I’m enjoying Talk Dirty by Jason Derulo
Anna: *rolls eyes and shakes head*
Kai: *shrugs and grins* You know you like it.

Anna: I love all kinds of books, but my weakness is the romantic stuff
Kai: *gets devilish grin*
Anna: Whatever you’re thinking, don’t say it.
Kai: *laughing* Am I that transparent? Okay, fine. I won’t say Kama Sutra.
Anna: I knew you were going to say that! *sighs*

Anna: I really don’t watch much television these days.
Kai: Same here.

Kai: Being sexy. Slinging daggers. Seducing Anna…
Anna: I’m going to ignore that comment. Reading is my only hobby. I don’t have much time for fun stuff, unfortunately.

Kai: Don’t have one.
Anna: Me neither. But I like running.

Anna and Kai at the same time: Knives.

Kaidan: *tries to answer, but voice is muffled by Anna’s hand over his mouth*
Anna: My favorite thing to do these days is stay alive.

Kaidan: Marilyn Monroe
Anna: I like One Direction.
Kaidan: *glaring* You what? Did you just…? Are you…? Oh, bloody hell.
Anna: *giggles*

Anna: One without demon whisperers.
Kai: Ha. What she said.

Thank you guys, this was really fun!

It picks up right where the last one ends, and it spans a two week timeframe. There are lots of twists and turns. We get to see more Jay. We get plenty of sexy Kai time.

I love the covers and I’m so glad HarperTeen decided to put Kai on the cover instead of just a girl in a pretty dress. The second is my favorite, I think. It’s sort of fierce, and it’s the sexiest to me.

There are a bunch of one-liners that make me smile, such as, “Kai, like Thai, only yummier,” and “This guy was extra-T worthy.” But my favorite lines are the very last ones in book 3. I can’t share those yet…

Off the top of my head, I’ll give three songs that describe Kai in each book:

Sweet Evil – Good Girls Go Bad by Cobra Starship (bad boy)

Sweet Peril – Bullet with Butterfly Wings by Smashing Pumpkins (angry boy)

Sweet Reckoning – Love Don’t Die by The Fray (boy in love)

Yes, it’s on my website under “Extras.” I should probably update it… (Sweet Evil Playlist)

Olivia Holt for Anna, and Wade Poezyn for Kaidan. Not sure about the others. Oh, maybe Michael Copon for Blake.

The Shag (as in the 1960’s dance)

Timber by PitBull and Ke$ha

White Hot Kiss by Jennifer Armentrout

Roth and Zayne from WHK, Jackson and Death from Poison Princess

Don’t have one – I haven’t watched television in years – I had to give it up for writing time. Crazy, huh? One that I will always love, though, is the Band of Brothers original series

  9. My current favourite series about angels is the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh. I found that, although there was attraction very quickly, there wasn't insta!love and I felt the characters were strongly developed. If you're good with adult romances, I'd recommend that series. I do also like the first two books of the Daughter of Smoke and Bone, even if the romance there isn't well-developed.

  10. Milton's Paradise Lost (it's divided into several "books" or chapters, so it could fit the "series" category here)
