Synopsis:

If you play with fire…

Tossed out of college and cut off by her parents, Samantha West is in pretty dire straits. So when her rocker best friend hooks her up with a job dancing at a gentlemen’s club, who is she to turn it down? Plus, there are rules to dancing at Benny’s: No touching, keep your clothes on at all times, and never get closer than three feet. Unfortunately for Sam, her first private client makes her want to break every single one of them.

Harrison Yates is scorching hot, but he’s got a past that involves being left at the altar not too long ago. Sam is determined to make him forget about his ex, but when she makes her move, it flings her life into a spiral of chaos she never saw coming.

Because Harrison Yates isn’t who he seems to be. And his secret will probably get her killed.

So far, A Little Too Hot is my favorite book in the A Little Too Far series. And the title perfectly fits the relationship Sam and Harrison have.

I always enjoy Lisa's books, so when I had the chance to read this one I couldn't wait. In A Little Too Hot she did an excellent job: writing a New Adult story full of sexual tension, danger, romance, cops and bad guys and a breath-taking ending.

The main character, Sam, is the perfect representation of someone who was in the wrong place at the worst moment of all.  Due to some situations in her life, she's forced to work as a dancer in a men's club and she makes the best of it. She accepts that life sometimes is hard and she needs to work it to make it better. And that's one of the best qualities this character has and you end up admiring.
Those of you who read the first book in the series, you met her. She was one of Lexie's best friends, the one that had the hots for Lexie's stepbrother that ended up in love with his stepsister? Yep, she was the peevish girl at the end of that story that was mad at her best friend for loving the same guy. I didn't like her 'cause Trent always told her that he was in love with someone else and she accepted to spent time with him. He always told her the truth about how he felt, but she got mad in the end. I understand that she could be mad, but not to the level of not talking to her best friend for so long.
In this book we meet a more mature Sam. She's still suffering from a broken heart, but she's trying to deal with it. Just by reading her life's situation and how she handles it, you know she's a different Sam. And I'm glad of it.

Harrison, the cause of every girl's fantasies from now on, is a great character and perfectly represents what I like to call a hot mess. He's, apart from hot, not what Sam thought he was, but not in a bad way. He's trying to protect Sam and also trying to control his attraction to Sam to not blow his work. He was sweet, attentive, protective, loyal and determined to find the bad guys. How can you not like him?

The plot was great and was easy to follow. I couldn't stop reading just to know how these two would end up and who the real bad guy was.
Overall, the story has the perfect amount of bad guys and bad situations that you start to think that Karma hates Sam. And all wrapped up in the perfect rush of adrenaline and sexual tension that a story needs.
Like every other good story, this one has the change of the characters attitude/behavior throughout the story. It was really nice to see Sam's family drama come to a happy ending and also her feelings towards her best friend and Trent. As for Harrison, just saying that he did the right thing.

And my favorite scene from A Little Too Hot? Well, I'm just going to say the pool scene and leave it to you to wait to have the book in your hands *wink*.

If you are a New Adult addict like me, I think you are gonna love as much as I did A Little Too Hot because is everything the title promises: hot, dangerous, intense and without losing the sweet touch that Lisa Desrochers puts in every story she writes. I would not miss Sam and Harrison's story, if I were you. Meanwhile, I'd definitely wait to see what else has Ms. Desrochers planned for the A Little Too Far series.
