Synopsis:

Have you ever gone just a little too far?

Lexie Banks has.

Yep. She just had mind-blowing sex with her stepbrother. In her defense, she was on the rebound, and it’s more of a my-dad-happened-to-marry-a-woman-with-a-super-hot-son situation. But still, he’s been her best friend and confidant for the better part of the last few years … and is so off limits. It’s a good thing she’s leaving in two days for a year abroad in Rome.

But even thousands of miles away, Lexie can’t seem to escape trouble. Raised Catholic, she goes to confession in hopes of alleviating some of her guilt … and maybe not burning in hell. Instead, she stumbles out of the confessional and right into Alessandro Moretti, a young and very easy-on-the-eyes deacon … only eight months away from becoming a priest. Lexie and Alessandro grow closer, and when Alessandro’s signals start changing despite his vow of celibacy, she doesn’t know what to think. She’s torn between falling in love with the man she shouldn’t want and the man she can’t have. And she isn’t sure how she can live with herself either way.

We meet most of the key characters for the A LITTLE TOO series in book one, A LITTLE TOO FAR. Lexie Banks and her stepbrother, Trent Sorenson, are two of three main characters. They are super close—more best friends than siblings—but things go a little too far one night and they take their relationship to a whole new (and very forbidden) level. I see Keira Knightly as Lexie.

Lexie points out that Trent looks a lot like Channing Tatum, so I think I’ll stick with her pick.

Lexie is terrified she’s traded her best friend for one night of mind-blowing passion, and she and Trent don’t really have a chance to clear the air, because she leaves two days later for a year abroad in Rome. While there, she is racked by guilt over what happened with Trent, and raised a good Catholic, decides to go to church to confess. There, she literally runs into Alessando Moretti, a transitional deacon only a few months away from becoming a priest, who has already taken his vow of celibacy. Eduardo Verastegui is my perfect Alessandro.

As part of her penance, she’s required to help Alessandro with his mission teaching school children about art. Over her months in Rome they grow closer, and Lexie tries to deny her attraction to Alessandro. But then she discovers Trent has started dating her best friend from home, Samantha West. Amber Sky Noyes could definitely pull off Sam.

Sam has always had a thing for Trent, and Lexie wants to be happy for them, but she is also miserable, because she comes to the realization she’s in love with her stepbrother. And when Alessandro’s signals start to change Lexie finds herself undeniably draw to him. So Lexie has a choice to make: tell Trent how she feels knowing it could destroy their family, or give into her feelings for Alessandro and ruin his life. You can guess that both men don’t get their happy ending. In A LITTLE TOO MUCH, the get to see what happens to the boy who doesn’t end up with Lexie. And Lexie, Trent, and Alessandro all make an appearance again in Sam’s story, A LITTLE TOO HOT (book 3 in the A LITTLE TOO series).

Blog Tour: A Little Too Hot (A Little Too Far #3) by Lisa Desrochers

A Little Too Hot (A Little Too Far #3)
284 pages
Publisher: William Morrow Impulse
Release Date: January 21st 2014

Synopsis:
If you play with fire…
Tossed out of college and cut off by her parents, Samantha West is in pretty dire straits. So when her rocker best friend hooks her up with a job dancing at a gentlemen’s club, who is she to turn it down? Plus, there are rules to dancing at Benny’s: No touching, keep your clothes on at all times, and never get closer than three feet. Unfortunately for Sam, her first private client makes her want to break every single one of them.
Harrison Yates is scorching hot, but he’s got a past that involves being left at the altar not too long ago. Sam is determined to make him forget about his ex, but when she makes her move, it flings her life into a spiral of chaos she never saw coming.
Because Harrison Yates isn’t who he seems to be. And his secret will probably get her killed.

Hi Lisa! I loved A Little Too Hot. It’s my favorite story in the A Little Too Far Series and I’m beyond happy to be part of this tour.

Not without spoiling! All I can say is there is a lot of Sam and Harrison heat, and things don’t go exactly how she hopes they might.

Just like with all my books, it started with Sam. She told me her story and I took dictation as fast as I could.

Initially, Sam is pretty self-centered. We see that in A LITTLE TOO FAR with her interactions with Lexie. But what I love about her is that she starts to take responsibility for choices she’s made (something many adults I know still haven’t figured out how to do), and she grows so much in this book. Harrison is initially very myopic, focused on what he needs to do, but like Sam, his is a journey of self-discovery. Over the course of the story he learns what’s really important to him and changes his life path because of it.

I have a playlist for all my books. Harrison is a country boy, and his song is “Don’t Ya” by Brett Eldridge, which pretty much sums up his and Sam’s relationship for the first three quarters of the book. Sam has several songs including Colbie Caillat’s “I Never Told You.” The overriding theme of the book is “Sirens” by Pearl Jam.

My favorite scenes, aside from Sam/Harrison sexytimes, are anything with Jonathan. He is a hot rocker goofball, who happens to be Sam’s current bestie. There’s a scene after he gets her the gig dancing at Benny’s when he slings her over his shoulder and hauls her to the VIP room yelling to the stage manager, “Hey, Nora! Anyone in the VIP room? Red and I need the couch and a thermometer for a science experiment. How hot is backstage sex between a rocker and an exotic dancer? Will spontaneous combustion occur? Inquiring minds want to know.”

RULE by Jay Crownover will always be my favorite. JET and ROME are amazing too, but I fell hard for Rule Archer. Another that was actually marketed as a YA, but is definitely NA is WHERE SHE WENT by Gayle Forman. That book ruined me for weeks. Adam and Rule will forever be my book boyfriends.

Alessandro and Hilary. They are both so complex, and their history so rich, that I found myself feeling for them like I’ve really never felt for any other characters.

Lexie says that Trent looks like Channing Tatum, so I’ll stick with her pick on that one. Kyra Knightly would make a great Lexie. Alessandro is Edwardo Verastegui.

I’d love to write a few ALTF novellas from Trent and Alessandro’s POV that would tie up some loose ends. I also have a story for Katie that I love. And lots of you are asking for Jonathan’s story. I’d love to write those. It really depends on how much book love A LITTLE TOO HOT gets whether I’ll get to or not. I’ve also got a new YA that I’m hoping for good things for, and some thoughts on a new NA series.

Thanks for stopping by! If you get a chance to read A LITTLE TOO HOT, hold on for a wild ride!

Thank you so much for this interview, Lisa and for writing such wonderful stories. I have to confess that since Personal Demons I’m a fan of your stories and I can’t wait to read more of your books.

Yay! I’m so happy you’ve enjoyed my books! Thanks for having me =)
