Coffee Contest for The Secrets of Attraction by Robin Constantine

A coffee shop and the many delicious hot beverages it serves play a big part in Robin Constantine's new book The Secrets of Attraction (on sale April 28th) SO to celebrate that, we're spreading the book and coffee love with a contest.

Synopsis:

Set in the same world as The Promise of Amazing, this smart, surprising, and romantic follow-up to Robin Constantine's debut novel follows two New Jersey teens as they become friends and fall in love. Perfect for fans of Stephanie Perkins, Sarah Mlynowski, and Jennifer E. Smith.

Madison Pryce thinks she's got everything figured out—she's working on a portfolio for a summer art program and hanging with her friends. Plus she has her hot boyfriend, Zach. But then a visit from a family friend turns Maddie's life upside down.

Jesse McMann is still reeling from a breakup that shattered his heart and his band. Then pride (and some goading from his bass player and fellow barista) forces him to find a new drummer—and the inspiration to write music again.

Kismet arrives in the unlikely form of Grayson Barrett, who tries out for Jesse's band, and whose girlfriend is BFFs with the cute girl who orders a chai latte after yoga every Thursday: Maddie. What Jesse and Maddie thought they knew about the secrets of attraction and the rules of romance changes once they start falling for each other.

For this contest, I'm going to talk about my favorite place to drink coffee apart from Starbucks, which I have developed a love so strong it could be considered as a relationship by now.

I have a thing for all American restaurants, specially the ones set in the 50's. We have two big brands here in Barcelona, Spain, that I know of: Peggy Sue and Tommy Mel's. I prefer the last one mainly for the location.

One of the best things about this place is, as I just said, the location. It's in a shopping center called La Maquinista.

Tommy Mel's entrance. You can see both my boyfriend and a friend looking at me as if I had gone crazy
As any other 50's restaurant, it looks like a normal place on the outside, but once you get inside the magic begins.

The diner looks amazing. With electric colors and with everything you would expect to find in a 50's bar. Even a quote in the wall keeps reminding you why you need to keep coming to this place.

But I wouldn't go to a place that didn't have good beverages or sweet treats, and my favorite thing in this place are the amazingly delicious milkshakes, specially the vanilla milkshake and the coffee milkshake. Like seriously, I have tried other places but I haven't found a milkshake that I like/crave as much as the ones at Tommy Mel's.

Between April 14th and 28th, use the #SecretsofAttraction hashtag to:

1. Describe your favorite coffee drink and/or place to drink it

OR

2. Show us a picture of your favorite coffee drink and/or place to drink coffee!

On April 29th, the guys at Deb Shapiro & Co. will randomly choose three coffee lovers from the hashtag to receive a signed copy of THE SECRETS OF ATTRACTION, an adorable mug (out of which you can drink your favorite hot beverage!), and some chocolate covered espresso beans (US mailing addresses only please)!

Robin Constantine is a born and bred Jersey girl who moved down South so she could wear flip-flops year round. She spends her days dreaming up stories where love conquers all, well, eventually but not without a lot of peril, angst and the occasional kissing scene.

Her YA debut, THE PROMISE OF AMAZING, will be released in 2014 by Balzer + Bray, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers.
