Synopsis:

Holly Hart has it all: designer clothes, affluent friends, a recording contract, and she’s dating the biggest pop star in America.

It's too bad he can't be seen with her in public. It's even worse that he seems so very cozy with Lacey, the girl who seems to enjoy stealing Holly’s dream and taking all the credit for their platinum-selling album.

And Lacey? Well she couldn't carry a tune in a bucket, but that hasn't stopped her from basking in the glow of the fame and fortune that comes with pretending to be Holly.

Yet, Holly signed a contract vowing to never reveal her true identity as the girl behind the hit songs. Her record label doesn't want anyone to know their teen dream is really a chubby, insecure girl from Iowa.

Holly needs to focus on finals. She can't let herself be distracted by the extremely hot and talented Grayson Frost or his prevailing attachment to Lacey. This is the deal Holly made, and she has to honor it no matter how much she hates it.

As if that’s not enough pressure, her grandparents have come to stay, her mom is dating a guy who makes his own deodorant, Shell Shocked Records want Holly to distance herself from Grayson, and she’ll probably end up failing Driver’s Ed.
In a town full of gossip and secrets, Holly wonders just how much longer she can continue to live a double life.

When the media gets a little too close for comfort, both Holly and Lacey are at risk. Soon Holly realizes her dream isn't only about her and if she is to ever be truly happy, she'll need to find a way past her insecurities.

Filled with laugh out loud and hold your breath moments, Holly Hearts Headlines is the follow-up to Holly Hearts Hollywood by Kenley Conrad.

I am that person who complains about books that get turned into movies. There are all sorts of issues that happen when a beloved book becomes a movie, but one of my pet peeves is the way films are cast. I’m super protective of Holly Hart and the concept of her becoming a movie or TV show. I’m super proud of Holly and her unique look. She’s a plus-sized girl and you don’t see many of those in Hollywood! Dream casts are always hard for me to put together because I have so many unique characters, but I’ll do my best!

1. Holly Hart: I’d actually prefer an unknown, teenage actress to play Holly. Holly is a girl unlike any other we’ve seen in Hollywood and her casting should reflect that! I’d love a plus-sized actress to play Holly and get an acting opportunity not usually given to girls who aren’t a size zero.

2. Serena Salazar: I’d love to see Selena Gomez play the feisty Serena! She’s an amazing singer with a great personality and personally, I think she’d look great in Serena’s daring fashion choices!

3. Lacey Bennett: If age wasn’t a factor, Taylor Swift has always been my first choice. I had Taylor in my mind when I created the character of Lacey. Obviously, Taylor is too old to play the role now, but she’s still the perfect Lacey in my mind.

4. Grayson Frost: If age still isn’t a factor, Zac Efron has always been my ideal Grayson. He looks just like the picture of Grayson I have in my head and he has that perfect smugness that boys who are hyper aware of their hotness always seem to exude.

I’m always open to requests! I’m mildly out-of-touch with the newest actors and actresses out there so let me know who you think would be perfect in a Holly Hart book or movie!

If you were to open up my iTunes and look at all of my music you would be sorely disappointed. I am an unfortunate Broadway musical dork. 90% of my music are Broadway cast recordings. I’m probably one of the only writers I know who likes to write in total silence. Actually, I can have the TV on with a show or a movie playing in the background. I watched Clueless and She’s All That like, fifty times while I wrote Holly.

Well, Holly’s wardrobe went through major changes. If you looked in Holly’s closet back when she was living in Iowa you would see a lot of graphic t-shirts, dungarees, capri pants, and keds.

If you looked in her closet after she moved to Los Angeles you’d still see some t-shirts and capri pants collecting dust. But there would be a lot of Diane Von Furstenburg wrap dresses, Prada clutches, and of course Louboutin high heels.

Her iPod would have an eclectic mix of country music, bubble gum pop, and audiobooks. Holly prefers mystery thriller audiobooks. She knows that they make her paranoid, but she loves them anyway.
