Synopsis:

Keeping secrets ruined her life. But the truth might just kill her.

Piper Woods can't wait for the purgatory of senior year to end. She skirts the fringes of high school like a pro until the morning she finds a notebook with mutilated photographs and a list of student sins. She's sure the book is too gruesome to be true, until pretty, popular Stella dies after a sex-tape goes viral. Everyone's sure it's suicide, but Piper remembers Stella's name from the book and begins to suspect something much worse.

Drowning in secrets she doesn't want to keep, Piper's fears are confirmed when she receives an anonymous text message daring her to make things right. All she needs to do is choose a name, the name of someone who deserves to be punished...

GONE TOO FAR
by Natalie D. Richards

Chapter One

Late. So late. I slam the car door behind me and race across the parking lot. My hair is tangled in the strap of my messenger bag, my shoes are untied, and I have no idea how I’m going to get to my locker without getting caught. I have to try because I need those chemistry notes.

Technically I needed them last night when I’d actually had the time to study for my midterm, but I didn’t think it was a big deal. I know the materials and I figured I could do a little last-minute cramming during first period homeroom. It was a decent plan until my phone battery died, taking my morning alarm down with it. Now I’ll be lucky to catch the last ten minutes of first period.

I hop the curb and slow as I slide into the shadow of the ancient brick school. It’s probably not classy to barrel through the door like an escaped convict. Of course, it probably wasn’t classy flying into the parking lot doing Mach 2 either.

I check my barely charged phone for the time as I climb the first step. My foot slips on something halfway up the stairs. It’s like hitting a patch of ice. I lunge gor the handrail and jerk myself upright, glaring down at the thing that tripped me –a dropped notebook.

Nothing special. It’s a plain, spiral-bound pad, the kind you can get at the drugstore for less than a buck. Pretty much worthless, excerpt I know it’s probably chock-full of notes. Notes seomone will need during midterm week.

Oh, fine.

I snatch the notebook off the steps and shove it into my bag. Lost and Found is going to have to wait though. It’s in the student store, which is on the opposite side of the school.

At seven, Natalie D. Richards wrote about Barbara Frances Bizzlefishes (who wouldn't dare do the dishes.) Now she writes about awesome girls, broody boys, and all things dark and creepy. Natalie lives in Ohio (Go Bucks!) with her techno-wiz husband, three amazing kids, and a seventy pound dust-mop who swears he's the family dog. Her psychological thriller, Six Months Later, will be released in October 1, 2013 by Sourcebooks Fire. Until then, you'll probably find her writing her next book or trying to wade through the towers of dog-eared paperbacks that have taken over her bedroom.

2015 Challenges

Book Addicts! A new year is coming and that means new challenges are coming too. So this next year, to help my TBR shelf and my reading, I'm signing up to a bunch of challenges and I'll start including the links to my reviews here, in this post, as soon as I publish them on my site. Also you can check out directly each of my shelves for each challenge.

The first challenge I'm signing up to, is the 2015 Debut Author Challenge or 2015DAC because it's a wonderful way to read new stories and to welcome new authors to this bookish world. So the basic rules are that the debuts must have a publishing date in 2015 and must have been read between January 1, 2015 and January 31, 2016 in order to count.

Another challenge I signed up for this upcoming new year is the 2015 TBR Pile Reading Challenge which I am already familiar with since I signed up for the 2014 challenge. So this challenge is about reading books of any genre, length, or format of book as long as it is a book that's been sitting on your self for some time. Short stories and novellas do count! The only stipulations that the book must have been released in 2014 or earlier and no 2015 ARCs or 2015 fresh-off-the-press releases allowed.

Another challenge I am giving another shot is the NetGalley & Edelweiss Reading Challenge since I am most of the time reading books from these two sites. This is a good way to try to keep my to-read shelves on those sites clean, although it's a hard work since there are always new awesome books available and little time to read all the books we would want. But it's still nice to try!

So that's it! At least for now. I just hope I have the time to read all the books I want to read and I am still trying to read a couple of books before the year ends. So, have you signed up for any challenges or do you have a goal for this new year? Let me know in the comment section!

2014 Review Pile Reading Challenge (RPRC2014)

I'm joining another reading challenge. I know! Some of you must be thinking I'm crazy (probably), but all my challenges are kind of linked with each other and will help me clean up my reading pile. Now I just need some magic wand or a time machine to buy me more free time. Any ideas how to get any of those?

Okay, after the crazy rant, the 2014 Review Pile Reading Challenge is hosted by Rachel @ Fiktshun and Reanna @ Phantasmic Reads. I just need to have some books received for review (check) and a place online to review them (double check). And I think I won't have any problem with the pile of to-read books received for review, 'cause guys it's big. But big in capital letters.
Because of that I'm hoping to arrive to the Adept level (40+ books). Do you think I can make it?

If you want to read more about the challenge go here.

I've created a Goodreads shelf for this challenge called the RPRC2014 shelf. Click on the banner below or here to go to my shelf:

The 2014 Netgalley & Edelweiss Reading Challenge

The 2014 Netgalley & Edelweiss Reading Challenge is hosted by Emily @ Falling For YA

What a better challenge than this to "clean up" my electronic shelves in Netgalley and Edelweiss? I have a lot of books, but I also have to be realistic. I'll try with Gold Level (50 books) and hope that I can reach the Platinum Level (+100). Since I have planned to read even more this year, this could possibly happen *cross fingers*.

In Goodreads I have an Edelweiss Shelf and a Netgalley Shelf where you can see all the books I have. I have also a Facebook Album: New Books, where I upload all the books I receive (Edelweiss, Netgalley, ARCs, books/ARCs for tours...).

Here you can follow the round up posts for the challenge:

Dystopia Reading Challenge 2014

Book Addicts!
This is another Reading Challenge. This time is all about dystopian books, because without this genre we wouldn't have amazing books like The Hunger Games or Divergent.
It's been a while since I haven't read a "pure" dystopian book and I also wanted to bring it back to my reading routine. Because of that, I'm going to settle for Level 2: Rebel and see if I can beat it.
What books can I read to complete this challenge? Books must include any form of post-apocalyptic theme. And we have plenty of those, right?
Ula at Blog Of Erised is hosting the Dystopia Reading Challenge 2014. If you want to read about it or sign up, click here.

2014 Witches & Witchcraft Reading Challenge

I signed up for a witchy reading challenge. I have left this genre aside for a while and I thought it was time to bring it back.
Which books can I read to complete the challenge? Any full length book that includes a witch as a main character or includes major witchcraft elements counts. They may be fiction or non-fiction. Since I have other challenges and the "Witchy" genre I left it aside for a while, I'm picking up the maiden level. However, I'm definitely going to try to beat it! Why not?
Melissa at Melissa's Eclectic Bookshelf is hosting the 2014 Witches & Witchcraft Reading Challenge. If you want to read about it or sign up, click here. And if you participate, you have to link up the reviews here.

The Unofficial Addiction Book Fan Club's Goal: 6 to 10 books - Maiden

Book Addicts!

As I said in my New Year Blogging Resolutions, I want to participate this year in different Reading Challenges, and Evie at Bookish has organized a Reading Challenge where any genre, length or format of book counts, as long as it's a book that's been sitting on my shelf for some time now.
I have to confess that I have plenty of those and that I need to read them, so this is a perfect challenge for this New Year.
