Hello Amanda! We are super excited to have you back in our FFBC tours.

Could you tell our Book Addicts a little bit about SUCH A GOOD GIRL?

This is pretty tough to do without giving anything away! SUCH A GOOD GIRL is a book full of twists and turns. It’s like nothing that I’ve written before. My other two books were multiple POV, and this focuses on a single character.

Can you tell us a bit about Riley? She seems like a girl that knows what she’s doing. How would you also describe her personality and how she fits in your story?

Riley is the most interesting character I’ve ever written. She’s intelligent and insightful and is incredibly powerful, and I like that about her.

Can you tell us about Riley’s style?

She has very classic style, and doesn’t follow trends, but you see her exploring a few daring pieces thanks to her best friends.

How did you come up with the story? Did you find inspiration in any other story/movie/show and how has this affected your writing?

I have to be careful with these because I don’t want to give anything away, but the first seeds of this story came from the idea of blame! My publisher compares this book to Pretty Little Liars and Luckiest Girl Alive.

Tell us your favorite quote from SUCH A GOOD GIRL.

Welllll…I can’t actually tell you my favorite quote, because it’s a bit of a spoiler. But I’ll tell you this one:

“Riley Elizabeth Stone is just about perfect. Ask anyone.”

I also love this quote:

“It’s almost like being good is the perfect alibi for being bad.”

Is there a specific scene that you had the most fun to write?

Yes! We’ll call it the pizza scene. You’ll know it when you get to it, but honestly, who doesn’t love pizza? There’s also possibly kissing. Pizza and kissing.

If you had to pick one song to be the Theme Song for SUCH A GOOD GIRL – Which one would you pick?

This is actually easy! There are perks to living in Nashville, and one of my good friends, Lexi Larsen, is a country singer. She wrote this song called “Bad” and ever since I heard it, I knew it was the theme song for Such a Good Girl.

Imagine that we get to see your book on the big screen (how awesome would that be?). Who would you pick to play your characters?

Riley is a brunette Sophie Turner

Alex is Ben Whishaw

Neta is a younger Diane Guerrero

Kolbie is a younger Tanisha Harper

Are there any recommendations you could give your readers to be in the “perfect mood” to read SUCH A GOOD GIRL (specific music, snacks…)?

Personally, pizza and nachos make me happy. I’m not sure how they would fare at the beach, but you could always slip this book into a beach bag, too, and take it on your next vacation!

What’s next for you?

I’m so excited to share that Such a Good Girl will be published in France by Lumen Editions!

Thank you so much for everything, Amanda!

Walled (The Line #2)

Genres: Dystopia, New Adult

Synopsis:

Freedom means making brutal choices.

Rebel lovers Naya and Ric have survived one year in hiding, raising Naya’s twins from infants to toddlers in the shadow of the brutal Auberge dictatorship. They’re alive, and they’re together, but the city is crumbling around them and the haunting memory of Naya’s dark days on The Line have never fully left them. Living in isolation won’t be an option forever.

When a mysterious revolutionary seeks their help to infiltrate Auberge’s electronic heart and shut it down, it’s an opportunity—it’s risky, yes, but if it works they’ll get out of the city and taste freedom for the first time. Naya needs this. They need this.

Beyond the broken walls of Auberge, Naya and Ric find the paradise they’ve always longed for. But with anarchy reigning and Naya’s children lost amidst the chaos, they’ll need to forfeit their post-apocalyptic Eden…or commit an unspeakable act.

“No!” Sonya shouted, clenching her jaw as her eyes bugged wide. “Not enough! It’s our fault we got those girls killed. Her fault!” She pointed at me again, and I felt my insides burst into flames and scatter like ash. “So don’t stand there and tell me how feeling compassion is the way to go. Compassion only gets people killed faster. It’s using your fucking brain, and thinking, planning, strategizing, that’s going to end this war. It’s following your goddamned mission and not getting distracted! And guess what? People are still going to die. So go ahead, stay behind because it feels right. Choose the fate of hundreds of thousands of people based on your fucking feelings.”

Crazy, right?

Who is their right mind would love bad reviews?

Honestly, I love the “good” bad reviews – the what? I mean the ones that have actual issue with the book itself and not the ones that just hate the author, or hate the main character’s life choices, or hate the concept as a whole, and you wonder why they read the book to begin with? I’m talking the “good” bad reviews that find plot holes, don’t buy the character arcs, or have issue with world-building, structure, and style. An actual critique, even if the reviewer hates my work?

Love those!

Now, this is not an invitation.

I’m not asking for you to go on GoodReads and rip apart my writing line by line. That would probably devastate me, let’s me honest. But, done well, a “good” bad review challenges and creates a fire within me.

It burns. It hurts. It even leaves scars. But the fire also teaches me something and I can’t not appreciate a good learning experience, even if it leaves a mark.

So critique away. Go for it! I welcome it.

Just do me one favor: make it a “good” one.

Good Girls Don't Date Rock Stars (Rock Canyon Romance #2) by Codi Gary

Good Girls Don't Date Rock Stars (Rock Canyon Romance #2)
by Codi Gary
Publisher: Avon Impulse
Release Date: April 22nd 2014
Genre: Romance, Adult, Contemporary
Rate: Enjoyed it (3,5 stars)

Synopsis:

Gemma Carlson didn't plan on waking up married.

She also didn't count on running into her old flame—and her son's father-turned-country rock star—Travis Bowers, followed by a night of drunken dares. Apparently one of those involved a ring on her finger and a vow … neither of which she intends to keep. Now with a hangover from hell, this good-girl-gone-bad knows there's just one thing to do: run.

Travis has been all over the world, but Gemma has never been far from his thoughts. So when they had the chance to catch up over a few drinks, he didn't hesitate. Of course, he didn't expect it would lead to marriage, or a runaway bride! Travis finally has a second chance and doesn't plan on losing Gemma again—or the son he didn't know he had. He proposes, albeit belatedly, a date. Or rather, a few. If they can make this marriage work by starting over, he stays. If not …

Gemma's not interested; she's got a son to protect and a heart to heal. But having Travis around could make both a little easier. Still, good girls don't date rock stars . . . right?

Good Girls Don't Date Rock Stars is the perfect romance book about second chances at love. It reminded me a lot to the first book in the Beaumont series by Heidi McLaughlin, with a slightly more mature touch, since I would definitely categorize this book into the Adult section and Heidi's into the New Adult section, with the waking up married scene from the What Happens in Vegas movie.

Gemma Carlson's in Vegas for a book conference when she runs into her old lover, her first love, and her son's father, Travis Bowers. He's a rock star and Gemma finds herself into a lot of trouble when with just one look from Travis all her feelings for him come back like ten years hasn't gone by.

Getting married in Vegas, was not into her plans and definitely not with Travis. She tries to forget that her marriage ever happened, but Travis has other things in mind. He's not willing to let the love of his love go once again and he's determined to fight for her this time.

However, their so dreamy reconciliation might be broken even before it starts due to the lies and mistrust between the two characters.

I loved the two main characters. They are good people and you can only see it by reading the first chapter. I love that Travis didn't mind Gemma's weight when they were back in high school, that means that he was way more mature than other boys his age, and that he fell in love with Gemma for who she was. I love it! I haven't read a single romance story that mentioned this and it made me fall even more for the male character.
You can easily relate to Gemma since she's a bookworm like us and, after all, she was in Vegas for books. What more can I say? She's a good person, kind and forgiving, but she also stresses about the consequences a bit too much. So I can tell you she's also a little bit temperamental.

Their story is a sweet one and it makes completely sense that one of the two main characters wanted to have it back. They start amazingly great, but when reality comes crashing back, they find themselves really trying to have a second chance. Travis gets to meet his son and he and Gemma heal from their mutual past.

This story is full of sweetness, romance and drama, but it's also a funny read and one of those reads that romance lovers need to read. I had a great time getting to know Gemma and Travis, their story and their son. And if you want to know if these two end up together and heal from their past lies and mistrust, you'll have to read Good Girls Don't Date Rock Stars. You'll definitely enjoy it!

From the time I could put a Disney Book cassette into my little stereo, and read along, books have held a fantastic distraction. When I was eleven, I decided I wanted to be one of those magical people that brought stories to life. Devouring a book a day sometimes, my first romance novel stuck with me. I've always been a sucker for a happy ending (and the great romantic gesture)and that's what I try to put into my stories. I am so honored to be a part of Avon, and am so excited to have my own dreams coming true.
