Synopsis:

Twentysomething Kat Reid is loving life as an in-demand Hollywood makeup artist. She has absolutely no interest in rock ’n’ roll, but in order to pay the mortgage, she agrees to work on the set of a rock video for the world-famous rockers known as Bad Habit…which brings her face-to-face with Nico Nyx, lead singer of Bad Habit and Adonis in the flesh.

However, the fiercely independent Kat isn’t impressed by the hard-living, womanizing rock star. But when Nico’s model girlfriend shows up to the set drunk and Kat is tapped to replace her as the video’s sexy bride, her combustible chemistry with Nico suddenly threatens to consume the set. Nico feels it, too—and becomes determined to win Kat over, body and soul. Yet behind his rock god swagger, Nico hides a dark secret. Can he rock Kat’s world forever, or will he just break her heart?

by J.T. Geissinger

If you’re like me, you find rock stars irresistible. There’s just something fantastic about a man who can make tattoos and a pair of tight leather pants into an entire outfit. Here are my top five reasons I find rock stars so sexy, in no particular order.

1. The Strut

Lord save me from men who know how to swagger. That cocky, you-know-you-want-me walk tells the ladies that not only does he think he’s the best, he’s got the goods to back it up. He oozes self-confidence, and you can’t wait to watch him go to work. On you.

2. The Talent

There’s magic in his voice, his eyes, his fingers…and I’m not just talking about between the sheets! Rock gods must have talent galore to rise to the top of their profession. He’s not just another pretty face, he’s a gifted musician and songwriter, and all that talent is a massive turn-on.

3. The Lifestyle

Admit it; his glamorous lifestyle is a major plus. The parties, the private jets, the fifty-city world tour…what girl wouldn’t want to hop along for the ride of her life? But beware if you’re the jealous type; women literally throw themselves at his feet. You’ll be stepping over swooning groupies everywhere the two of you go.

4. The Power

He’s got pull, and it shows in a million ways, both big and small. Whether it’s a private audience with the President or a private night at Disneyland (because he bought out the whole park for your first date), a rock star can get anything he wants. This Prince Charming really can make all your dreams come true.

5. The Fantasy

He’ll whisk you off to exotic island locations on a moments’ notice. He’ll shower you in expensive gifts. He’ll write a song just for you…or maybe an entire album. Every day with your rock god will be more interesting than any other day you’ve ever had. And if you’re really lucky, he’ll pop the question and give you that happily-ever-after you deserve.

I never listen to music while writing because I need to concentrate, but I do become obsessed with certain songs while I’m writing certain books. I’ll listen to them over and over in the car or on my iphone, picturing the characters, thinking about scenes, letting my imagination go crazy, then write all those ideas down. So music definitely inspires my writing. Here are a few of the songs I was obsessed with while writing Sweet As Sin. (Links open Amazon Music window.)

Book Blitz: VIP (Rock & Release #1) by Riley Edgewood

Release Date: November 17th 2014
Genres: New Adult, Romance
 photo addtogoodreadssmall_zpsa2a6cf28.png photo B6096376-6C81-4465-8935-CE890C777EB9-1855-000001A1E900B890_zps5affbed6.jpg

Synopsis:

VIP is the first act of Rock & Release, Riley Edgewood's three-part new adult romance serial!

When Cassidy Evans scores VIP tickets to a concert, she decides to use them for one carefree night before beginning a summer internship at her father’s Fortune 500 company. But one carefree night turns into a few too many martinis—with two unexpected twists: A steamy encounter with Gage Logan, sexy singer and guitarist, and a tempting job offer from Gage's boss to work at the concert venue she now knows quite intimately.

She definitely can't take the job. Her internship is an opportunity any business major would kill for. But the thought of working with her father, a man furious with grief over a family tragedy that struck six months ago, fills her with dread.

Then there's Gage. Working with him all summer could be hot. Cassidy can't stop flashing back to their night together. Molten kisses. His hands smoothing across the skin of her belly. The weight of his body above her own…

And suddenly the decision about how to spend her summer is much, much harder to make.

*********************

VIP (Rock & Release, Act I) is out now!! The final two acts of the Rock & Release serial, Starstruck and Show Stopper, launch on December 1 and December 15, respectively.

VIP
by Riley Edgewood

"You should stay and have a drink." The words tumble from my mouth before I can stop them, tripping over my tongue and cartwheeling past my lips and if I could grab them and swallow them back down I would.
Or… Maybe I wouldn't. Maybe I like this bold version me who says what she wants to.
He meets my gaze, half of an amused smile across his lips, revealing white teeth, with one slightly crooked cuspid, and, no, I actually don't regret my words at all. His mouth. Those lips. That perfectly imperfect smile… If what I said convinces him to stick around, I'd be nuts to be sorry for what I said.
"As long as I don't have to drink anything quite this pink." He taps the rim of my glass with a long, slender finger.
"I'm Cassidy." I stick my hand out to him—because if I'm going all confident and carefree Cassidy here, I'm not holding back.

"Gage." He doesn't hesitate to reach out this time around, which makes me a little giddy though I hide it by swallowing the rest of my drink, which thankfully goes down smoothly this time. When he holds my fingers a second longer than necessary, I don't mind at all. And when he keeps his gaze on mine as he slides into the seat next to me, his expression friendly—and a little suggestive—my lips curve up in response.

What inspired you to write VIP (Rock & Release, Act I)?

My (awesome) friends gave my husband and me VIP tickets to a concert (Steve Miller Band & Journey—fantastic show, by the way), and at the pre-concert VIP bar, I sat there watching the college-aged staff working their shifts and realized it could be really fun setting for a story. Drinks, musicians, that "new adult" period of life… I let my imagination run away and it came back with Cassidy.

This is a serial, right? Why did you serialize Rock & Release into three acts?

Well…I do call it a serial because the plot arc reaches across all three acts of Rock & Release. Each act is between 30 & 40k words and each releases two weeks after the last. (In order: VIP, Starstruck, & Show Stopper). At first I planned to put it out as a novel all at once, but a writing friend suggested it worked well in three parts. PLUS, this way, since I'm a debut author, readers can pick up the first act (VIP) for cheap (only $0.99) and decide if they want to keep going from there. I thought it might be a better way to allow readers to take a chance on a debut without forcing them to spend the full cost of a novel the first time.

Tell us something you love about your main characters that we can't tell from the blurb?

Hmmm. Let's see… Cassidy loves whiskey. Not that it plays a huge part in the story, but it's always been interesting to me because I couldn't STAND whiskey when I was in my young twenties. (Don't love it now, either.) But there's a reason for it, and it's something she shares with her father, which is cool. Gage is sexy and sweet (that's in the blurb!) but he has some serious stuff going on with his family. And then there's Luca James, who's not in VIP but plays a very prominent role in Starstruck and Show Stopper. He's got a few dark secrets…and that's really all I can say about that.

Obviously, authors love their main characters—but who are your favorite secondaries?

This is too hard to answer! I love so many of my secondary characters—and even the tertiaries, too. Let's see… There's Vera, who doesn't necessarily have the best taste in guys, but is super team girls supporting other girls, which is a trait I adore. Teagan, Cassidy's oldest friend who has some issues and can come across a little rough, but came to me so fully formed she'll be getting her own book in the future. Clark, who's more of a tertiary character so I couldn't push more of his story into this one, but he's funny and a flirt and I just love him on and off the pages. Zach. Zoey. Katy… I could go on and on—I really do love all my characters! Even most of the bad ones.

Tell us three things about yourself we can’t discover by reading your author profile.

Ummmm… I went skydiving on my 21st birthday, and it was amazing. (Not sure I have the guts to do it again though!) I competed as a gymnast while growing up. (I even competed at the same competition as Dominique Dawes once! #amazing. I also was on an Olympic training team for a while.) I have four tattoos, including a little star on the inside of my middle finger, and I love it.

What are your favorite new adult titles by other authors?

I *loved* All Lined Up by Cora Carmack. (I have the second book of that series lined up (pun = totally unintentional at first) and waiting on my kindle as my prize for finishing my next book). Easy by Tammara Webber. All of Chelsea Fine's NA, too. And More than Exes, Elizabeth Briggs' new adult rock star novella that just came out.

What's next from Riley Edgewood?

Well, Starstruck (Rock & Release, Act II) comes out on December 1, and I'm really excited about it! In this act, international rock star Luca James sweeps into town, and he's just…yummy. Show Stopper (Act III) releases December 15 as the final part of Cassidy's story. And the next book in this series, a companion novel (full-length, this time) is coming soon! This one's a sexy lil beach romance! (New Adult, of course.)

Synopsis:

Half-Life bassist Krist Mellas is caught in a PR nightmare after his dirty sex video blew up online. His agent has the solution: a fake engagement with sultry pop princess Madeline Fox. Krist can’t think of anything worse than a charade with the bubblegum bombshell…except losing the band.

Madeline knows better than anyone what it means to live a lie in the spotlight. She’s determined to help Krist without ever letting him find out what it costs her—or about her girlhood crush on him. But after a smoking hot back alley encounter with him leaves her breathless, she can’t deny she wants the snarling bad-boy rocker.

In a world of glitter and diamonds where the kisses are fake but the climaxes are real, their facades start to crack. And the publicity storm may shatter them both.

WARNING: This book contains a scorching threesome, a dirty talking pop princess, and a surly rocker who hits all the right notes.

One Kiss With A Rock Star
by Amber Lin & Shari Slade

Watch the wings.

He couldn't miss them. She was naked but for feathers and glitter. Untouchable. Two grips ushered her along the catwalk and affixed her harness to a rig in the rafters. Krist was only a few feet off the ground on his platform, but he still felt unsteady. She was so high.

An assistant counted down, and the director shouted, “Action!”

The army of dancers below writhed to the thumping bass line of the guide track, feet pounding the floor, but Krist only had eyes for Madeline. She lifted her arms above her head like the ballerina in a little girl’s jewelry box, stepped off the ledge, and twirled down, singing.

“I break my own wings.”

The power in her vocals, the edge behind the lyric, knocked him more off balance. He'd expected her to lip sync. He'd expected her to fucking suck.

“I am falling. I am falling. Lift me up.”

All the dancers below lifted their hands in unison and swayed like the collective force of their will would boost her higher. Cheesy pop bullshit, but something about it worked. He didn’t want to admit it, but she had…something. She could fucking sing.

Her descent slowed. If he stretched, he could just reach her perfectly manicured toe. Almost time.

His whole body tensed as a camera swung in his direction. He grimaced and gripped the railing when the platform beneath him, mounted on what looked like a cherry-picker truck, shifted closer to Madeline. The cameraman gave him a thumbs-up. He must look sufficiently demonic.

Now. He reached for her, grabbing her by the waist, the only part of her body unadorned, and pulled her close. One breath and he was overcome by her scent. Spicy cotton candy. Unexpected and strangely perfect. A second breath and he prepared to do his damned job, to mash his lips against hers and fling her back to her adoring throng. It was only skin. It didn’t mean anything.
Her eyes flashed mischief. Hi, she mouthed and hooked her legs around his hips.

He froze. The producer hadn’t mentioned grinding in the rundown earlier. She shimmied against him, and his traitorous cock responded. Do the job you came to do.

Before he could, she bent her head and stole the kiss he’d been hired to deliver. He couldn't help but gasp, and then her tongue, warm and electric, invaded his mouth. Chai.

Could an angel corrupt a devil?

“I am falling. I am falling.” The guide track looped in the background, distorted by Auto-Tune, hardly recognizable as the sultry voice he'd just heard.

It was too much. The wet heat, her teeth grazing his bottom lip, and the way she rocked against his crotch. It hurt to touch her, just like the devil was supposed to react. He pushed, but she only held on tighter, digging her heels into his ass, twisting his hair in her fingers. Sparks of pleasure-pain skittered under his skin. She’d chosen him.

He didn’t want to want her. Wanting was a one-way ticket to disappointment.

She raked her fingers down his back, teasing the sliver of skin between his shirt and belt, and pressed her mouth to his ear. He shivered.

“Work with me.” She nipped him.

He could work. And if his body responded? Well, it was only biology. The hard-on straining against his zipper was as manufactured and packaged as the Dream Angel in his arms.

He lost himself in the pull and sway, forgot the crowd of people, the camera, the job. Forgot everything but the taste of her, the feel of her tight muscles under his palms, the tickle of feathers floating free.

He kissed her back, violent and hard, reclaiming what she'd taken: his choice. Her body softened, melted around him. She moaned, giving in, an unexpected surrender. He hadn’t missed the power she wielded over the whole production, a queen bee to her hive. But here she was gasping and shuddering in his arms, the rapid pulse against his chest like wings beating against glass. He ran his tongue along hers, savoring the honey and spice.

A sound came from the sides, an urgent whisper. They wanted him to stop. He even felt her lurch away, tugged by mechanical means, but he held tighter. They’d have to tear her away. They’d have to hurt her to do it. For one brief moment, he wasn’t letting go. Skin to skin, mouth to mouth. Heat to heat, and they’d both flown too close to the sun.

The music stopped.

He pulled back, breaking the kiss, but not the connection burning between them. “Why me?”

She blinked, hazy with lust. “Because you're the demon.”

That's my motivation. “No, why did you want me for this set. I know you did.”

He needed her to say it out loud. Because you owe me. Then he could be done. Then this could be filed away as one more task completed, one more favor repaid. Then he could ignore the sweet ache he felt at the thought of letting her go.
