More Than Enough (More #5)
by Jay McLean
Release Date: Coming Mid 2015
I make it four steps down the hall when I hear a door open and his voice. "Hey."
My heels dig into the floor before I slowly turn around.
He's standing just outside his doorway, barefoot, sweats hanging off his hips, the band of his boxers peeking through the top. He's shrugging on a shirt, but it's too late. I've already seen what he's trying to hide. I press my tongue to the roof of my mouth, making sure that my jaw follows, instead of doing what it wants to do, and that's hang open in awe of his—
"I'm sorry." He steps forward.
I step back.
"I was rude before." He rubs the back of his neck. "You want help with your stuff?"
"No," I say, but it comes out harsh. I bite my lip, afraid of how I'll sound if I say anymore.
He stands to full height. He's tall. At least 6"3'. That's also about the width of his shoulders that he's currently straightening.
I squeak out a 'thanks anyway' and shuffle my way out of the house and into the front seat of my car… where I continuously bang my head against the steering wheel and curse under my breath.
