Synopsis:

A paranormal category romance from Entangled's Covet imprint...

Wanting her was one thing. Keeping her was another...

Serenity Danssaert was already in way over her head. Not even her MI6 training or her powers as one of the seven Pleiades witches is going to save her sister. Then Alexi Jovec shows up. A secret operative working for unknown forces, he's impossibly sexy and dangerous...and the guy who bailed on Serenity after a red-hot, racy night.

So bonding to him as her destined—the One—is so very wrong.

While Alexi’s need to own Serenity—body, soul, and beyond—is nearly unbearable, it's also forbidden. He's the last man who could ever be her destined. Besides, Hades's right-hand man cannot bond with a chosen Pleiades witch. He may be the one man who can protect her, but she can never be his to keep.

I was provided with a digital copy of His Witch To Keep and therefore I had to read all the books in the series, in order, to get the full bookish experience.

In my opinion, this second book in the Keeper of The Veil series is just as fascinating, romantic and fun as the first one. If you have read the first book before reading this one, you have met the main character before. She was presented as a badass girl and in this second book we get to meet her even more. I was glad to see that underneath that badass exterior she was a passionate, honest and loyal woman and that made me like her even more.

Moreover, we get to meet the mysterious Alexi, who has been protecting Serenity from the beginning. He's a death reaper and he's not allowed to have a family, but neither he or Serenity can't deny the chemistry and attraction between them.

The plot was not repetitive nor boring and the story is well-written with developed characters and unique moments between them. I was glad to see that other characters were involved in the series and that it was not awkward or strange having them interact with the main characters.

As a couple, I was just dying for these two to realize that they were meant for each other and when they did I just started fangirling a lot. That's one of the reasons I rated so high this book because it's not easy to make me fangirl over a couple.

Comparing the two books, I would say that the first book was more focused in explaining the world and interacting with the magic that the author wanted to have in this series. However, in this second book we barely see any magic.

I received this copy in exchange of an honest review and I just can't wait to read more books in this series!

Zoe Forward is a hopeless romantic who can’t decide between paranormal and contemporary romance. So, she writes both. In addition to being a mom to one rambunctious kindergartener and wife to a conservation ecologist who plans to save all the big cats on the planet, she’s a small animal veterinarian caring for all the small furries, although there is the occasional hermit crab.

When she’s not typing at her laptop she’s tying on a karate belt for her son or cleaning up the newest pet mess from the menagerie that occupies her house. She’s madly in love with her globe trotting husband of ten years and happiest when he returns to their home base in North Carolina.

Nobody's Goddess (The Never Veil #1)
Publisher: Month9Books
Release Date: April 21st 2015

Synopsis:

In a village of masked men, each loves only one woman and must follow the commands of his “goddess” without question. A woman may reject the only man who will love her if she pleases, but she will be alone forever. And a man must stay masked until his goddess returns his love—and if she can’t or won’t, he remains masked forever.

Where the rest of her village celebrates this mystery that binds men and women together, seventeen year old Noll is just done with it. She’s lost all her childhood friends as they’ve paired off, but the worst blow was when her closest companion, Jurij, finds his goddess in Noll’s own sister. Desperate to find a way to break this ancient spell, Noll instead discovers why no man has ever loved her: she is in fact the goddess of the mysterious lord of the village, a Byronic man who refuses to let Noll have her right as a woman to spurn him and who has the power to fight the curse. Thus begins a dangerous game between the two: the choice of woman versus the magic of man. And the stakes are no less than freedom and happiness, life and death—and neither Noll nor the veiled man is willing to lose.
