I had the need to read Red the very first time I saw it on Goodreads, not only for the intriguing and beautiful cover, but for the promising synopsis. And I was not wrong. Red is one of those YA supernatural stories that hook you right from the very first page.
With a great plot, interesting supernatural aspects, a good romance and great characters, Red is pretty much what you can read in the synopsis. I don't want to explain further from that to avoid possible spoilers, but let's just say the author did a wondering job building up all the scenarios and aspects of the story. It's one of those stories that while you get to know the characters and unravel what's going to happen to them, the background around them starts making sense slowly and, in the end, everything is connected. I like those stories where you get all the details and all the information slowly and then everything makes sense and you go like "No way!".
The main character, Kia, is definitely a strong character. I liked her attitude, since most of my favorite characters have a badass attitude and personality and Kia was no different. However, she's a teen and it showed her insecurities all masked by some well-thought comebacks that made the situation kind of funny. Ethan was something different, sweet and trying to do the right thing. I liked him from the very first page and having two different point of views throughout the story - Kia's and Ethan's - was very helpful to get to know both characters and liked them a bit more by getting into "their heads".
Overall, this was a really enjoyable read. I was fascinated by it from the very start and it's one of those books who's difficult to stop reading and continue the next day. You need to know what's going to happen next! That's why I am highly recommending it to all YA readers searching for a good paranormal book with a romance in it that will definitely keep you awake all night.

She believes this to be mostly true except for the fact that she really likes running water, women’s rights, and ice cream.
Among her favourite books are ‘The Wood Wife’ by Terri Windling, ‘Jane Eyre’ by Charlotte Bronte, and of course, ‘Pride and Prejudice’ by Jane Austen. Elizabeth Bennet is her hero because she’s smart and sassy, and Mr. Darcy is, well, yum.
Aside from the ghosts, she also lives with husband and their dogs. She likes cinnamon lattes, tattoos and books.
