Synopsis:
Willa’s string of good-hearted but ill-conceived thefts at her former high school catapulted her into a life she hardly knows. She became a cult hero, but soon afterward, her mom disappeared, leaving only a cryptic message. When Willa hit the California highway to find her, she discovered a dark family secret: Joanne Fox is not who she says she is-and neither is Willa. Now, Willa and fellow trouble-maker Aidan must race to St. Louis, Missouri, Willa’s birthplace. There, they hope to find answers about Willa’s past. But uncovering the truth requires solving a decades-old murder case.
Unfortunately, the perps are still out there . . . and willing to do whatever it takes to keep the case cold. With Willa’s face on the nightly news and the police hot on her trail, it might not matter that Aidan and her friend Tre are there to help. Willa’s only hope is to find the truth before it finds her first.
Hello Elisa – We are honored to be participating in your blog tour!
Well, I am even more honored to be part of it. Thank you so much for all of your hard work in putting it together.
Ooh boy, just one? Across ALL genres? How about one of my favorite YA books? I have read FEED by MT Anderson more times than I can count.
Eh, I like them three-dimensional.
“Sometimes it's a form of love just to talk to somebody that you have nothing in common with and still be fascinated by their presence.” David Byrne
Great books and their authors, definitely. However, I once worked as a rock journalist for a couple of years and interviewed a lot of my favorite bands. In order to do this job I had to teach myself to cool down my fangirl sensibilities—otherwise, work would not have been accomplished! So I find that I am like a seventh grader around people I admire… sometimes I go out of my way to act like I care way less than I do. Probably not fooling anyone, though.
I would love to meet Paul Zindel, who wrote a lot of the YA books I loved when I was a kid. Sadly, he’s not around anymore, but I try to spread the word, because I think he’s due for a resurgence.
PRETTY WANTED is the finale to the PRETTY CROOKED trilogy. After attempting to even out the social playing field in her high school (Book 1) Willa Fox gets busted for her Robin Hood scheme, only when her mother goes missing (Book 2) she can’t abide by the terms of her probation and takes off on the road with her hot manpiece Aidan Murphy to try to find her. In this last installment, Willa needs to go deeper into the mystery of her family and what she uncovers is much bigger than she ever expected. Of course, in this, as in the previous two books, there are chase scenes, disguises, vintage clothes, break-ins, Facebook fans, FBI agents and scary bad guys. Plus makeouts.
Lock picking!
Stubborn, optimistic, stylish, just, foxy.
I think the most fun scene in this book was the scene when they hide out in the library. That’s kind of a fantasy of mine.
